Mt Difficulty Pinot Gris 2007
Poor old pinot gris is a much-maligned wine style so when a great example, a really striking wine, comes across the tasting bench it tends to get me pacing. This one was almost too good to be true, cascading aromas of poached pears and perfectly pitched ripeness. They’ve got the very best fronm the variety, a little savoury edge honed in the winery, all nicely done. The palate rolls out a gentle creamy texture, soft, tidy and intensely flavoured with yellow peach and ripe nectarines. With Alsace-like concentration, the sweetness is discreet, bringing it all to a long peach-flavoured finish. One of the best examples going. – Nick Stock, February 2008 View Mt Difficulty Pinot Gris 2007
