All wines now in screwcap

All the lastest release white wines have a screwcap closure. Along with the option of this closure on the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this closure is available on all our varieties.

We have chosen the screwcap closure for our wines for a number of reasons.

The main reason is that we can now feel confident that the customer receives the wine in the same condition as it was when it left the winery (assuming it is stored responsibly on the way!). This is essentionally because there is no risk of the wine being corked, or suffering from a slight loss of flavour or other characterisitics because of a less than perfect cork.

We also believe that the varities we make are well suited to the screwcap closure. As the whites are predominantly 'aromatic', then the screwcap closure ensures the wine is fresh and full of flavour.

We also feel that Pinot Noir and our style of Chardonnay benefits from this type of closure.

As there may be a lower level of initial acceptance for the screwcap with oaked wines, we have made these available with a choice of screwcap or cork closure.
