Mt Difficulty Wines, proud sponsors of the Southern Sinfonia
Mt Difficulty Wines is delighted to announce their continuing support of the Southern Sinfonia, this year sponsoring the Sinfonia’s Principal Clarinet. The Southern Sinfonia is Dunedin's only professional orchestra, and one of four regional orchestras in New Zealand's largest cities funded by Creative New Zealand.
Annually, the Sinfonia present a five-concert subscription series, plus schools, chamber and Proms concerts, and education programmes including masterclasses and workshops. They also regularly accompany productions by resident and touring opera, ballet, musical and choral companies.
The Southern Sinfonia’s programme for 2010 is as follows:
- Saturday 6 March 2010 – Dvorak’s New World (Borodin, Prokofiev, Dvorak) DunedinTown Hall
- Saturday 1 May 2010 – Russian Masters (Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Beethoven) Dunedin Town Hall
- Saturday 29 May 2010 – A Triple Birthday Extravaganza (Chopin, Schumann, Mahler) Dunedin Town Hall
- Sunday 18 July 2010 – Horn Magic (Stravinsky, Mozart, David Hamilton, Mendelssohn) Kings & Queens Performing Arts Centre
- Sunday 29 August 2010 – Vive La France (Poulenc, Saint Saens, Gounod) Kings & Queens Performing Arts Centre
