New Cellar Door
“What a spectacular view” is the first reaction from virtually everyone who visits our new tasting room. Built on a hill above the winery, our tasting venue affords a splendid view. Bounded on the west by Mount Difficulty, it encompasses our vineyards, neighbouring orchards, the gold sluicings and stretches north beyond Cromwell, up Lake Dunstan to Lowburn and Bendigo- it has to be one of the best vistas in Central Otago! Designed by Timaru architect, David McBride, the curved north-facing building wraps around the landscape offering picture postcard images through every window. To make the structure as unobtrusive as possible on the landscape, the exterior building colours match the surrounding clay soils. Two open fires provide warmth and cheer while the outdoor terrace is a perfect setting for a glass or two of our wonderful wines on warmer days. Lunch is available 7 days a week . Our ever-changing menu offers reasonably-priced, uncomplicated food with an emphasis on local produce and good wine matches. The venue is also available for hire for private evening functions by arrangement.
